Technician Time Control

Controlling and measuring technician’s time and performance is a vital function to the success and future profitability of the service department.

In other words when service management controls the technician’s time they are managing the service department’s labor inventory.

Measuring technician performance and utilization will increase the net profit of the service department.

Technician performance and time control is dependant upon these measurement factors:

Productivity – this is the time the technician is physically present to work divided by the actual working hours spent during the day.

Efficiency – this is the technician time spent working on a vehicle divided by the flat rate time received.

All three-computer systems have detailed performance management reports that can measure the technicians available, assigned and flat rate times.
